Who Tried to Steal the Statue of Liberty?

Statue of Liberty inside Trump tower
Trump family has been eyeing the Statue for years, wanting to put it inside one of their towers.

The Trump family has made an attempt to dismember the Statue of Liberty. This is what it would look like as part of the Trump Hotel at Columbus circle.

Trump has said he would rent out different body parts of the Statue and allow guests to, “Grab whatever they like,” in private penthouses only accessible to the uber wealthy. “We will have three rooms that will be very exclusive for the best parts of her. That is freedom.”

The base would be accessible to the public within Trump Tower on 5th Avenue, blocks away.

The world noticed the lights out on the statue and the worst almost happened. We were saved, momentarily, by French surrealist provocateurs who were inspired by the Women’s Strike. They had plans and nearly took the Statue of Liberty back to Paris.  A compromise was reached whereby neither Trump nor the French will take the Statue for an unstated length of time.

The French group, identified only as LPN (“Les Plumes Noir”), saw women marching in Washington Square and said in a statement “At least  there may be hope. America is very close to losing Liberty, I hope you all realize that and also start drinking better wine. We have free healthcare, great wine, and a five hour lunch. What is your problem?”

They had planned to replace the statue with a hooded figure holding a burning cross

The Parisians planned to replace the statue of the hooded figure with a burning close replacing the torch. The French artists had successfully unplugged the statue and had brought a replacement on a barge all the way from their foundry near Paris. Meanwhile the Trump family were about to swoop in via helicopter and taking the torch arm when a judge intervened.

Congress has offered a counter-proposal, the American Statue Act, which would replace the statue with the “Trump Statue, Casino, and Groping Center,” would have been a great money maker for the Russian oligarchs who would live there. The costs would be born by Mexicans and a tax cut to the top 1%, or if that didn’t work, unemployed people on Medicaid.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” will continue to stand in the harbor for a few more days. All agreed any new statue will say “We traded our liberty for a reality television star. Hate to ask, you tired and huddled people, could you help us?”
